سورة البقرة آیت 40
يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتِيَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَوْفُوا بِعَهْدِي أُوفِ بِعَهْدِكُمْ وَإِيَّايَ فَارْهَبُونِ
سورة البقرة آیت 41
وَآمِنُوا بِمَا أَنْزَلْتُ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا مَعَكُمْ وَلَا تَكُونُوا أَوَّلَ كَافِرٍ بِهِ ۖ وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا بِآيَاتِي ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا وَإِيَّايَ فَاتَّقُونِ
ترجمہ
اے بنی اسرائیل یاد کرو میری ان نعمتوں کو جو میں نے تم پر کیں اور پورا کرو میرے عہد کو میں پورا کروں گا تمہارے عہد کو اور تم مجھ ہی سے ڈرو
اور ایمان لاؤ اس چیز پر جو میں نے نازل کی وہ تصدیق کرنے والی ہے اس چیز کی جو تمہارے ساتھ ہے اور نہ ہو جاؤ اس کا پہلے انکار کرنے والے اور نہ بیچو میری آیات کو تھوڑے سے پیسوں کے بدلے اور تم مجھ ہی سے ڈرو
Translation
O Children of Israel! Remember My favors which I bestowed upon you, and fulfill My covenant; I shall fulfill your covenant, and fear Me alone.
And believe in that which I have revealed, confirming what is with you, and do not become the first to reject it, and do not sell My verses for a small price, and fear Me alone.
تفسیر
ان ایات کا پچھلی ایات سے ربط یہ ہے کہ پچھلی ایات میں ان نعمتوں کا ذکر تھا جو اللہ تعالی نے تمام لوگوں پر کیں اب ان ایات میں انعامات کا ذکر ہے جو اللہ تعالی نے خاص بنی اسرائیل پر کیے۔ اسرائیل حضرت یعقوب علیہ السلام کا لقب ہےاسرأ کا معنی ہے بندہ اور ایل کا معنی ہے اللہ تو اسرائیل کا معنی ہو گا اللہ کا بندہ اللہ تعالی نے حضرت یعقوب علیہ السلام 12 بیٹے عطا کیے تھے ان میں سے حضرت یوسف علیہ السلام پیغمبر تھے حضرت یعقوب علیہ السلام کی اولاد در اولاد کو بنی اسرائیل کہتے ہیں بعض روایات کے مطابق اللہ تعالی نے حضرت یعقوب علیہ السلام کی اولاد بنی اسرائیل میں سے تقریبا چار ہزار انبیاء کو مبعوث فرمایا ان کے اخری نبی نبی حضرت عیسی علیہ السلام تھے جن کا ذکر قران مجید میں متعدد مرتبہ کیا گیا ہے اور چار مشہور اسمانی کتابوں میں سے تین یعنی تورات زبور اور انجیل انہی پر نازل ہوئیں تورات حضرت موسی علیہ السلام پر نازل ہوئی ہوئی اور زبور حضرت داؤد علیہ السلام پر نازل ہوئی اور انجیل حضرت عیسی علیہ السلام پر نازل ہوئی اور ان تینوں انبیاء کا تعلق بنی اسرائیل سے تھا ان میں سے ایسے انبیاء بھی تھے جو نبی ہونے کے ساتھ ساتھ بادشاہ بھی تھے جیسے حضرت یوسف علیہ السلام اخری دور میں مصر کے بادشاہ بھی تھے اور نبی بھی تھے اور حضرت داؤد علیہ السلام نبی ہونے کے ساتھ ساتھ بادشاہ بھی تھے اسی طرح حضرت سلیمان علیہ السلام نبی ہونے کے ساتھ ساتھ عظیم الشان بادشاہ تھے اسی طرح اللہ تعالی نے بنی اسرائیل پر بہت سے انعامات کیے جن کا ذکر دو رکوع تک چلے گا باقی یاد کرنے کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ ان کا شکر ادا کرو اور عہد سے مراد وہ ہے جس کا ذکر چھٹے پارے کے ساتویں رکوع میں تفصیل کے ساتھ کیا گیا ہے کہ تم نماز قائم کرو اور زکوۃ دو اور میرے رسولوں پر ایمان لاؤ اور ان کی قدر اور عزت کرو اور اللہ کو قرض حسنہ دو یہ کام بن اسرائیل کے ذمہ تھے اللہ تعالی نے فرمایا اگر تم ان کاموں کو پورا کرتے رہو گے تو ہم بھی اپنے عہد کو پورا کریں گے اور ہمارا وعدہ یہ ہےکہ ہم تمہاری خطاؤں کو مٹا دیں گے یعنی معاف کر دیں گے تمہیں ایسے باغات میں داخل کر یں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہوں گی۔ ایمان لاؤ اس چیز پر جو میں نے تم پر نازل کی یعنی قران مجید پر اور یہ قران تصدیق کرتا ہے ان کتابوں کی جو تمہارے پاس ہیں اور تم سب سے پہلے اس کا انکار کرنے والے نہ بنو کیونکہ تم صاحب علم ہو اگر تم حق کا انکار کروگے تو تمہیں دیکھ کر دوسرے لوگ بھی انکار کریں گے ان کے انکار کا وبال بھی تم پر پڑے گا کیونکہ حدیث شریف میں ہے جس نے اچھا طریقہ رائج کیا مثلا کسی سنت کو زندہ کیا اور اس کو دیکھ کر دوسرے لوگوں نے بھی اس پر عمل کیا تو عمل کرنے والوں کو جتنا ثواب ملے گا اتنا ہی ثواب اس رائج کرنے والے کو بھی ملے گا اور ان کے ثواب میں کوئی کمی نہیں ہوگی اور جس نے برا طریقہ رائج کیا تو جتنے لوگ اس برے طریقے پر چلیں گے ان کو جتنا گناہ ہو گیا اتنا ہی گناہ اس رائج کرنے والے کو بھی ملے گا اور ان کے گناہ میں کوئی کمی نہیں ہوگی حدیث شریف میں بیان کیے گئے اس ضابطہ کے مطابق یہ امت جتنی نیکیاں کر رہی ہے ان کا ثواب حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو بھی ملے گا۔ اور میری ایات کو تھوڑے سے پیسوں کے بدلے نہ بیچو اس کا یہ مطلب نہیں ہے کہ زیادہ پیسوں کے بدلے میری ایات کو بیچ دو کیونکہ جو کچھ دنیا میں ہے وہ سب کا سب اللہ تعالی کے نزدیک بہت تھوڑا ہے جیسا کہ ترمذی شریف کی حدیث میں اتا ہے کہ حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا اگر دنیا اور دنیا میں جو کچھ ہے اس کی قیمت اللہ کے نزدیک ایک مچھر کے پر کے برابر بھی ہوتی ہے تو اللہ تعالی کافر کو پانی کا ایک گھونٹ بھی نہ دیتے لہذا ساری دنیا قران مجید کی ایک ایت کے بدلے میں بہت تھوڑی ہے

Tafsir
The connection of these verses with the previous verses is that the previous verses mentioned the blessings that Allah Almighty bestowed upon all people. In these verses, Allah Almighty mentions the special favors and rewards that He granted specifically to the Children of Israel.
Israel is the title of Prophet Yaqub (Jacob, peace be upon him). “Isra” means servant and “El” means Allah; therefore, Israel means “the servant of Allah.” Allah Almighty granted Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) twelve sons. Among them was Prophet Yusuf (Joseph, peace be upon him), who was a prophet. The descendants of Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) are known as Bani Israel (the Children of Israel).
According to some narrations, Allah Almighty sent approximately four thousand prophets among the descendants of Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him), the Children of Israel. Their last prophet was Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him), who is mentioned many times in the Holy Quran. Out of the four famous heavenly books, three — the Torah, the Psalms, and the Gospel — were revealed among them. The Torah was revealed to Prophet Musa (Moses, peace be upon him), the Psalms were revealed to Prophet Dawud (David, peace be upon him), and the Gospel was revealed to Prophet Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him). All three of these prophets belonged to the Children of Israel.
Among these prophets were some who were kings as well as prophets. For example, Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) was both a prophet and, during the latter part of his life, a ruler in Egypt. Likewise, Prophet Dawud (peace be upon him) was both a prophet and a king. Similarly, Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon, peace be upon him) was a prophet as well as a magnificent king.
Allah Almighty bestowed many favors upon the Children of Israel, and the mention of these favors continues for two sections. The command to “remember” these favors means that they should express gratitude for them. The covenant refers to what is explained in detail in the seventh section of the sixth Juz: that they should establish prayer, give Zakah, believe in Allah’s messengers, honor and respect them, and give a goodly loan to Allah. These were obligations placed upon the Children of Israel.
Allah Almighty said that if they continued to fulfill these responsibilities, He would also fulfill His covenant with them. His promise was that He would erase their sins, meaning He would forgive them, and He would admit them into gardens beneath which rivers flow.
“Believe in that which I have revealed” means believe in the Holy Quran. This Quran confirms the truth of the scriptures that were already with them. They were warned not to become the first to reject it, because they possessed knowledge. If they rejected the truth, other people would also reject it after seeing them do so, and the burden of those people’s rejection would also fall upon them.
This is because it is mentioned in a blessed Hadith that whoever introduces a good practice, such as reviving a Sunnah, and others act upon it after seeing him, then he will receive a reward equal to the reward of all those who practice it, without any reduction in their rewards. Likewise, whoever introduces an evil practice, then for every person who follows that evil practice, he will receive a sin equal to theirs, without any reduction in their sins.
According to this principle explained in the Hadith, all the good deeds performed by this Ummah bring reward to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as well.
“And do not sell My verses for a small price.” This does not mean that Allah’s verses may be sold for a larger price. Rather, everything in this world is extremely insignificant in the sight of Allah Almighty. As mentioned in a Hadith recorded in Tirmidhi, the Prophet ﷺ said that if the world and everything in it had the value of even the wing of a mosquito in the sight of Allah, then Allah would not give a disbeliever even a sip of water from it.
