Surah Al-Baqarah 2:45-46 – Seek Help Through Patience and Prayer in Islam
Arabic Verses
وَاسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ ۚ وَإِنَّهَا لَكَبِيرَةٌ إِلَّا عَلَى الْخَاشِعِينَ ٤٥
الَّذِينَ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُم مُّلَاقُو رَبِّهِمْ وَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ ٤٦
Urdu Translation
اور مدد حاصل کرو صبر اور نماز کے ساتھ، اور بے شک یہ بہت بھاری چیز ہے مگر عاجزی کرنے والوں پر۔
وہ لوگ جو یقین رکھتے ہیں کہ بے شک وہ اپنے رب سے ملاقات کرنے والے ہیں اور بے شک وہ اسی کی طرف لوٹنے والے ہیں۔
English Translation
And seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, it is difficult except for those who are humble before Allah.
Those who are certain that they will meet their Lord and that they will return to Him.
Urdu Tafseer
اللہ تعالیٰ ان آیات میں مسلمانوں کو حکم دیتے ہیں کہ ہر مشکل، آزمائش اور پریشانی میں اللہ سے مدد طلب کریں۔ صبر اور نماز اللہ کی مدد حاصل کرنے کے اہم ذرائع ہیں، لیکن مدد صرف اللہ تعالیٰ ہی سے مانگنی چاہیے۔
صبر کا مطلب ہے ناگوار حالات، تکلیفوں اور آزمائشوں کو برداشت کرنا اور اللہ کی رضا پر قائم رہنا۔ اسی طرح نماز کو وقت پر، خشوع و خضوع کے ساتھ ادا کرنا بھی آسان کام نہیں۔
یہ دونوں اعمال ان لوگوں کے لیے آسان ہو جاتے ہیں جو عاجزی اختیار کرتے ہیں اور قیامت پر یقین رکھتے ہیں۔ وہ جانتے ہیں کہ ایک دن انہیں اپنے رب کے سامنے حاضر ہونا ہے اور اسی کی طرف واپس لوٹنا ہے، اس لیے وہ صبر اور نماز کو اپنی زندگی کا حصہ بنا لیتے ہیں۔
English Tafsir
In these verses, Allah instructs believers to seek His help through patience and prayer. Patience and prayer are means of drawing closer to Allah, while all help ultimately comes from Him alone.
Patience involves remaining steadfast during hardships, trials, and difficulties while trusting Allah’s wisdom. Prayer strengthens a believer’s connection with Allah and provides spiritual comfort and guidance.
Although patience and regular prayer can seem difficult, they become easy for those who possess humility and fear of Allah. Such people firmly believe that they will meet their Lord on the Day of Judgment and return to Him. This certainty motivates them to remain patient, devoted, and obedient throughout their lives.
